How to Advertise Multiple Properties on VRBO.com

VRBO.com listings are designed to advertise one rental unit. Listings advertising more than one property are not permitted. We believe that renters want to read about and view photos of the actual property they are renting.

If you are in a popular, competitive area, you should add a listing for each unit that you are trying to rent. Your inquiries and bookings will typically increase by having more listings. We believe the increase in bookings you should receive will much more than justify the extra expense of another listing.

If there are not a lot of listings in your area, or your budget does not allow you to add a listing for each rental unit we recommend that you select ONE rental unit to base your listing on. Describe that one property & display photos of that one rental unit. Then, at the end of your rental description, just make mention of the fact that you also have other rental unit available. Perhaps something like:

"We also have a lovely 1 Bedroom cottage available ... Contact us for details"

How to View Inquiries from VRBO.com

We recommend that you view your inquiries online to ensure that you are receiving all your inquiries. Some owners have found themselves unable to receive their inquiries due to spam filters added by their email providers. To help with both of these situations, VRBO developed an online system where members can log into their administration area to view and respond to all inquiries.

To view the inquiries that have been sent on your listing in the past months online, simply…

  1. Go to the VRBO home page.
  2. Click on "Owner Login"
  3. Log into your account. (If you don't know your UserID and Password, please click on "Forgot your Password," enter your listing number and press the "Submit" button. Your Logon information will be sent to the e-mail address of record for this listing.)
  4. Click on "View Inquiries for all my listings"

NOTE: If the VRBO site doesn't recognize that you are still using it, it will log you off after 30 minutes... So to make sure you don't lose any of your work, just press the "Next" button at least once every 30 minutes.

How to Change Your VRBO.com Contact Info

How to Advertise Multiple Properties on VRBO.com

Just go to the VRBO home page, click on "Owner Login", and log in with your User ID and password. (You can get your password by going to http://vrbo.com/admin/RequestId.asp). Choose to edit your listing, (find your listing number in the middle of the Administration page, and click on the "Edit" button to the right).

Once logged in, scroll down the page, until you see your email address. To the right of that information, you will see a button that says "Advanced option". Click on that button, and you can enter the other email address. Then, when you are finished, click "Next" at the bottom of the page to save your changes. Then, click on "Review" to see your ad on the website. (This particular change will not be displayed, since we do not publish email addresses on the listings.)

You can test the email link by going to your listing online: www.vrbo.com/xxx (your property id). Click on the "Click to send email" button, and then sending a "test" inquiry. Click "Send email now" at the bottom of the form. It should then be directed to the "override" email address that you entered on your listing.

How to Add a Different Email Address to Receive Rental Inquiries

Just go to http://www.vrbo.com/, click on "Owner Login", and log in with your User ID and password. If you do not remember your Password, go to: https://admin.vrbo.com/admin/ForgotPassword.aspx and input your VRBO.com Log On Name or listing number. An email containing a link to reset your password will be sent to the email address on record for your account. Choose to “edit your listing”, (find your listing number in the middle of the Administration page, and click on the "Edit" text link to the right).

On your “Rental General Information” administration page, scroll down the page, until you see your email address. To the right of that information, you will see a button that says "Edit contact information for this listing". Click on that button. For security purposes, you will be prompted to answer your security questions before continuing with any contact changes. Then to enter the email address you would like your rental inquiries routed to. You can also edit the phone number displayed on the listing.

NOTE: This will NOT change the main email address or phone for your entire account. This change will just effect your rental inquiries & phone contact for this listing.

When you are finished, click "Next" at the bottom of the page to save your changes. Then, click on "Review" to see your ad on the website. (This particular change will not be displayed, since we do not publish email addresses on the listings.)

Click "Send email now" at the bottom of the form. It should then be directed to the "override" email address that you entered on your listing.

How to Add Links to Your VRBO.com Listing

VRBO.com is happy to link to approved web sites that provide more detailed information about your property. Each VRBO listing can have up to two approved URL links. There is no additional cost for URL link, but all links must be approved by the webmaster.

You may want to include links to one or two other web pages or sites (2 links is the maximum). These should be web sites that provide additional information regarding your location, region or area OR a personal web site which more completely describes your property (links to commercial web sites that compete with VRBO.com or to sites that advertise multiple other properties/accommodations or to sites that do not support our frame are provided on a reciprocal link basis only).

All links are subject to review. VRBO.com is a family oriented business, as such, all links must be appropriate for family viewing. Any links which we deem to be inappropriate will not be allowed. Since the contents of a linked page may change after a link is made, VRBO.com reserves the right to remove links at it's sole discretion.”

So, as long as your website supports our frame, does not advertise multiple rental accommodations (up to 2 accommodations per 1 active VRBO.com listing), does not link to another commercial vacation rental website, and contains family friendly information, we would approve a link to the site on your VRBO.com listing.

Otherwise, the only way we can allow the link is if you are willing to put a reciprocal link back to VRBO.com on the page of your site that gives more information and photos about the property that is advertised on the VRBO.com listing (unless we have declined the link for inappropriate content). The reciprocal link can be either to your listing on our website, or to our home page and must contain "VRBO" or "Vacation Rentals by Owner" in the link title or description.

To submit new or corrected URL links for review, please login to your VRBO.com account. From your account administration page, click to edit the listing. You may submit your link request on your listing's "Desc & Links" administration page.

Virtual Tours
VRBO will link to virtual tours, as long as they meet certain criteria: they must support the VRBO frame, must not link to any other vacation rental website, and must not advertise multiple properties. VRBO.com does not host virtual tours so you will have to contact a virtual tour company to create the tour of your property. When it is ready for review, please login to your VRBO.com account. From your account administration page, click to edit the listing. You may submit your link request on your listing's "Desc & Links" administration page.

The photos contained in the virtual tour do not "count" as photos published to your listing. So, we always recommend adding photos to your VRBO.com listing, even if they are the same as the ones contained in your virtual tour.
