Guidelines for Local Rental Alert Mass Mailings
If you have a message that you'd like sent out to other vacation rental owners in your area, here are a few guidelines.
When something is happening in a vacation rental market that could possibly threaten our owners' businesses, we like to know about it-- and we like to pass the word along to our owners. If you have a message that you'd like sent out to other owners in your area, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- All submissions for mass mailing must contain the web address of an official source for members to obtain detailed information. This must either be a government site or that of a reliable, mainstream newspaper. We do not consider web addresses for community groups to be official.
- The verbiage for the mailing must be written by the submitter. Please be sure to include dates, for meetings and contact and/or fax numbers for owners to send correspondence.
- Mailings must be informative, accurate, concise, positive, and constructive in nature. We will not mail inaccurate or misleading messages.
- We must have proposed dates for such mailings along with dates for meetings/voting, etc. We MUST have sufficient lead time to put together any mass mailings. We will consider 3-5 days advance notice at a minimum and prefer one week so that members can plan to attend.
- We will only send out one mass email to our members on any one particular issue. However we encourage you to submit updates and further info which will be posted and included on the Local Rental Owner Alerts section of the Owner Community.
- Please include the specific geographical regions which you would like the mass email to be broadcast to, if necessary we may ask you to provide individual property ID numbers. For example, you cannot just ask us to send out an email to all Broward County, Florida. We do not have Broward County defined in our system as a unique geographical area. In order to mass mail to everyone in that county, we need to know which specific listing areas are included in Broward County.
- We reserve the right to edit information submitted before sending to our members.
Please submit your mailing requests via the OC Contact Form.
Thanks for your help!
