NOTE: The customer service departments for each of our sites do communicate the scams to each other, but even if we block the email addresses of scammers, unfortunately they can always get a new email address. While HomeAway, Inc. does everything they can to protect vacation rental owners from scammers, our best defense is to educate owners to protect themselves.

The whole commission thing really spooked me so I wrote back and recommended they look for other types of accommodations such as a full-service resort. This is the response I received:

Thanks for your rapid and kind reply. I have called my client to discuss
the rooms options, rate and its facilities. I also explained them this
would be non-refundable funds when they'll make any cancellation. As I
wrote in my previous email, they will pay you fully (100% deposit in
advance). So there's no need to balance to rest payment in cash when
they are coming. Reason for the visit is pleasure, tourism and do
business there. He want to pay 100% deposit in advance to any
reservations I am looking for, not just 30-50% payment in advance. So
there's no need to balance t! he remainder upon their arrival. I also
explained them thi! s would be non-refundable funds when they'll make any
cancellation for doing 100% payment in advance.

And about the commission, I would like to add a commission rate for
myself. I please let you know that my rate is 12% and you will add it to
the total amount due.

So in purpose my client will pay you the entire balance before arriving.
I think it's fair enough to send us the 12% referral commission after
the total payment has been fulfilled (appears on your account bank).
Please let me know if this sound workable with you then we will do our
best to make our client reservation only with you. Thank you again for
depending to do business with us. Once again, I look forward to a
successful, summarily and righteously relationship with you.

Hello, I want you to know that I just spoke with the travel agent that will be handling our travel arrangement over to Hawaii and I was told that they do not have any means of cashing a check drawn on a US bank. So I called my business associate who also cannot walk down to a western union to transfer the travel cost due to his being an handicap. So he suggest he'll make a check on your name for the total cost of the rent and our travel expenses together in a check he'll be sending to you.So you are to cash the check,deduct the rental cost for our two weeks period of stay with a $200 compesation for the run around then wire transfer the remaining balance to the travel agent. Hi,Thanks for your response to my inquiry.I would like to rent the place for my honeymoon friends.July 1-10 will be fine.
All the same, I will not fail to tell you that i am currently in the Gulf where I am on active duty on a U.S Aircraft carrier as a Doctor.
We have limited use of telephones for now because of the disruptions it causes on the communications radar on the ship so i get an opportunity to use the phone once in 3 or 4 days.Hence,my home # 206-666-3053 is directed to answering machine in the US there as iam here.
We even take turns using the computers here on board. I would have been able to conclude arrangements for their! travel to a honeymoon destination myself while back home but could not because I was recalled to active duty albeit in a hurry, so could not conclude these arrangements.
I will have to depend on you to make the reservation and their stay possible.
I will like you to give me a comprehensive bill covering these number of days that my people will be staying in your accomodation, that way, we will know how best to approach the matter and get this all settled in good time. So i think the internet is the best way to communicate with me.
