Descriptive Words to Use in your Vacation Rental Ad- Part 2

Your second home isn't ordinary, so why use unremarkable language to describe it?

Creating the perfect wording for your vacation rental listing is probably just as important as having a well kept home!

While writing your listing, keep in mind that potential renters are looking for something that is not run-of-the-mill. While you can help your ad to stand out with well taken photos, a descriptive listing could help increase your inquiries and potential bookings.

When writing the copy, it would be easy to choose descriptors such as “nice,” “amazing,” “gorgeous,” “beautiful,” and “cozy”. There's nothing wrong with these, but they're overused and have somewhat lost their meaning. Instead try using words such as “alluring,” “appealing,” “sophisticated,” “immaculate” or “quaint.”

Besides adjectives, there are other ways to talk about your home--describe the type of home, location and amenities. The following is a list of words we have put together that can be used to describe your vacation home in your headline and/or description.

Remember that it is important to be honest and paint a clear picture with the words you choose to describe your second home. For instance, if your vacation home is close to the beach but not on the beach, it would be unfair to call it a ‘Waterfront Home.' Also, keep in mind that while using common words may make your listing boring, using extremely complex words like ‘ostentatious' instead of a simple ‘grand'  might make your listing too difficult to understand. Remember to use physical attractions, amenities and descriptive words that hold true for your vacation home and make renters want to inquire.
