Common Mistakes Owners Make When Filling Out Their Contact Info

When filling out the contact information section of their vacation rental listing, many owners make business-breaking mistakes.

The owner contact information should be the most straightforward part of a vacation rental listing, but you'd be surprised how many second home owners make serious mistakes.

1. Typos. Double check each piece of your contact information before you click “Save”. One simple mistake in your email address means that your inquiries are getting lost in cyberspace.
2. No Phone Number. Many interested renters (especially last-minute renters) will want to call you to check availability instead inquiring by email. If you don't provide a phone number, they're likely to skip your vacation home and move onto the next listing that does.
3. No Contact Name. Renters are less inclined to call you if you don't have a name provided. It's awkward for people to call when they don't know who to ask for.
4. Not Including a “Best Time to Call.” Do you enjoy receiving phone calls in the middle of the night? If not, take advantage of the “Notes” field next to your phone number.

Having a listing without correct contact information is like having a grocery store without checkout counters. Completely fill out your owner contact information and double check it twice to make sure that potential renters have a way to purchase (or at least inquire about) your product.
