Daily And Mid-Week Cleaning Services for Your Vacation Rental Guests
Should you offer daily or mid-week cleaning for your guests?
I offer daily and mid-week cleaning as an option for my renters. If the renters ask, I'll arrange it. I don't require it and have found most people don't want it.
My thoughts? Well, there are cleaning staff trust issues (for the renters). Think about it, how difficult is it to find someone that you trust to clean your primary home? I have to worry about things such as jewelry, money, and other valuables that might be laying around. I think renters worry somewhat about their personal belongings, and that's the main reason they forgo this option. I know when we stay in hotels, I always "wonder" about my personal belongings. I would guess that this is the primary reason renters choose not to have a mid-week clean.
Now on the flip side, my housekeeper does not like to do mid-week cleaning, either. First, it's a lot more work for her to clean around the renter's personal belongings. Secondly, it's a matter of personal safety for her. She does not know my renters at all, and closing herself into a home with renters in the place can compromise her personal safety.
So with all those things in mind, I don't require or even persuade mid-stay cleans. I offer it, but renters usually decline.
