Christine's Blog: An Overview of Spring Conferences (05/05/2008)
Christine talks about the recent shows and conferences she has attended.
Hi everyone,
Sorry I didn't blog last week—spring is always a busy time of the year for me. Besides the seminars that I conduct, there are many other conferences I attend and/or speak at.
Here's a brief overview of the conferences I have been to in the past few months:
In March I attended the Cottage Life Show, which was held in Toronto, Canada. This was a trade show for people who own second homes. I was surrounded by 30,000 or so second home owners all under one roof! Seeing all the products and services available to second home owners in Canada was quite overwhelming.
In April I went to The Vacation Home Expo, which was held in Atlanta. This was supposed to be a show for travelers seeking out vacation spots. It was not very well attended, but the people who did come really didn't know too much about vacation homes. It was quite interesting to hear the questions and perceptions about vacation rental homes from travelers who had never thought of renting.
Then a couple of weeks ago I spoke at Escapes! Second Home Expo, which was held in The Woodlands, TX. This was a show for people looking to buy vacation homes. It was a pretty interesting show with a lot of international properties represented.
This week I'll be attending the National Association of Real Estate Editors Conference. This is a conference for journalists and writers who specialize in real estate. I always look forward to this one. I always learn so much about new and up and coming things in the real estate market. I'm sure next week I'll come back with lots of new things to write about!
