Current Rental Market Conditions:

Under a Maui County ordinance, any property that is rented less than 180 days consecutively by the same guest is considered a transient rental property and requires a county-issued conditional use permit.  These permits have been issued to about 35 bed and breakfasts and 10 vacation rental owners.
