Sliding Glass Doors: Replace or Repair at Your Vacation Rental?

Sliding glass doors are great as long as they work; but when they start sticking or not opening easily, they can be a pain.

Problems with sliding glass doors are common, so you are not alone!  Check out these links for tips on repairing and replacing your doors.

How To Replace The Rollers On Your Sliding Glass Door

More often than not you can get a few more years out of a sliding glass door by having the tracks cleaned and the rollers replaced. Many door and glass companies can perform this service for around $100-$150.

Check your manufacturer's warranties because sometimes the parts are covered (though often the service call is not). Keep in mind that the whole door has to be taken apart to replace the rollers.  I would recommend contacting a handyman before beginning the project.
