General
"JC Penney - reasonable prices, convenient, and if you're in a hurry for something, they ship fast!" -Kathy, Sebasco, Maine (HomeAway #135835)
"I have purchased many sacks full of good buys at BIG LOTS. I found a beautiful room divider that was a fraction of the price I would have paid at Pier One, Hobby Lobby (two of my favorites), or department stores. From linens to kitchenware, they are a great bargain! You can find a store near you by going to: http://www.biglots.com/store_locator_adv.aspx or you can shop online. You can also find great bargains of good quality merchandise (mostly bed, bath, kitchen linens) at WestPoint Home. I don't think these stores are all over the country but you can buy their products at other places. Of course the wisest and most prudent thing to do is plan ahead and stock up on things BEFORE you need them. That way, you can take advantage of the stores' SALES - when they are trying to move product - getting ready for the next season. Have fun shopping for those bargains and definitely keep your eyes open for the Thanksgiving and After Christmas Sales!” -Linda, New Braunfels, TX (HomeAway #165863)
“Wal-Mart is the place for me. They have everything I need. First thing I do is hit the clearance area, most of the time you will find bed & kitchen table sheets, cloth napkins, towels, silver and cookware. Another place would be the Dollar Store there you can get great deals on small size soaps, shampoos, mouth rinse & toothpaste. You can never go wrong with these 2 places.” -Mayra, Ellijay, GA (HomeAway #169843)
“I usually try to monitor the sales at the big department stores (especially after the holidays). Big discounters such as Target, Linen & Things, Bed, Bath & Beyond have some nice linens and household items. Lately I've found some great things at TJ Maxx HomeStores - including decorative things as well as practical needs such as linens, glassware, nice serving bowls, etc.” -Dee, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico (HomeAway #136793)
“We've been pretty lucky with Ross. They have a good selection in terms of size, color and quality and the prices are great. When we're off the Island we go to Tuesday Morning as they have the ultimate quality at incredible prices. Don't buy linens and towels at Wal-Mart or Kmart, even though the price is cheap, so is the product. After one washing you have flat paper think wash cloths and towels with loose strings and hem tears everywhere!” -Denise, Hawaii (VRBO #117421)
"Local wholesaler for hotel sized soap." -Thomas, Gulf Shores, AL (VRBO #177123)
"Sales at department stores, TJ Maxx, Ross; high-end consignment shops" -Jane, Amelia Island, Florida (VRBO #67858 and #148124)

Sheets
“I find that Overstock.com has great sheets at a great price. I also sometimes buy towels from them.”-Karen, Palm Desert, CA (HomeAway #116805)
“Just recently I needed to update the sheets for twin beds in a "kids" bedroom. I happened to be in Wal-Mart for other purchases and looked at the bedding. I was very surprised to see that they seemed to have upgraded their quality and selection and found the twin sheets in a color I had wanted for under $10 a set. They are percale, cotton/poly mix and 200 thread count. Upon washing them, I was extremely impressed with the soft feel and no wrinkles...they felt to be a much higher quality sheet than I had expected. Just wanted to pass along the info as now I am considering checking at Wal-Mart next time I need to replace other sheets for my "adult" bedrooms!” -Gay, Pikes Peak, CO (HomeAway #317867, #318333, #322854)
“Best shopping for towels and linens is JC Penny. Most ANY week you can purchase luxury items for 50% off and just before and after the Christmas holiday season you will find 60% off pricing and with bonus $10.00/$15.00 coupons.” -Bonnie
"Wal-Mart" --Thomas, Gulf Shores, AL (VRBO #177123)
"Tuesday Morning" -Jane, Amelia Island, Florida (VRBO #67858 and #148124)

| Towels
"We usually get towels from Amazon.com. They run "Deal of the Day" specials on towels where you can get nice quality towels at 2 sets for $16. That is 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 wash clothes for $16. They are very nice quality towels." -Ricki, Encinitas, CA (HomeAway #165838)
"I buy my towels, wash cloths at Costco. Washcloths are $9.99 for 24 pack." -Veronica, Destin, FL (VRBO #21668)
“We have a TJ Maxx Home Store in our area (Asheville NC) that has terrific deals on towels. They are high quality and have an expensive look and feel to them. They always get in sets of bath towels, hand towels and wash clothes.....usually a dozen each size. The large bath towels are no more than $7.99 and usually less. I also find them at Marshall's (also part of the TJX chain).” - Stephanie, Asheville, NC (HomeAway #138883, #158927, #313963, #316837, #317240)
“At Wal-Mart, Costco or Sam's. Sam's and Costco have great towels.” -Cheryl, Playa del Carmen, Mexico (VRBO #66811)
"Wal-Mart, Target (Always sell out on sale items, so be very quick. Rain checks are of little value as they do not restock sale items)." -Thomas, Gulf Shores, AL (VRBO #177123)
"Target, sales at department stores" -Jane, Amelia Island, Florida (VRBO #67858 and #148124)

| Kitchen Items
“I got so carried away about getting to share my experience at Wal-Mart with sheets that I didn't notice you asked about silverware. I haven't needed any yet...my places are still stocked pretty well, but I noticed that at Sam's Club you can buy bulk packages...knives, forks etc separately...they are restaurant supply so should hold up reasonably well and I believe a package of 20-25 (don't remember exactly) was around $8 or so!!!! I wish I had known this when I was stocking silverware in the beginning!” -Gay, Pikes Peak, CO (HomeAway #317867, #318333, #322854)
"Dollar Tree for kitchen items." -Thomas, Gulf Shores, AL (VRBO #177123)
