Should You Provide Pantry Items for Your Vacation Rental Guests?

Should you provide items such as coffee, sugar, and catsup for your guests?

The more items and services you provide for your guests, the more they will appreciate your vacation home, which usually results in less damage and increases the likelihood of your guests returning.

Stocking a pantry with items like condiments and beverages usually costs less than $50 per season to provide. However, the appreciation of these items goes much further. The rule of thumb that I use when debating which items to purchase: If the renter will only use a small portion, then I provide it.

I leave a little note which reads, "If you use it all, please replace it."  I can't tell you how many times renters have commented that the pantry items were very much appreciated.
