Adding Beds Boosts Inquiries and Bookings for Your Vacation Home
Thinking outside of the box or the bedroom can lend an eye-opening view of your vacation home.
A one bedroom condominium could easily accommodate two people. A three bedroom house, with two people occupying each room, can fit a maximum of six people. Thinking outside of your established boundaries might open your vacation rental home up to additional inquiries from a variety of groups looking for more space.

After adding a comfy sofa bed, thick futon or a trundle bed:
- A one-bedroom property can be transformed into a property for a small family: mom, dad, and one or two children
- A three-bedroom house can now accommodate sleeping space for eight people, as opposed to six people. This arrangement enables two families to share the rental together (2 couples and 4 kids).
While the alternative sleeping accommodations are usually not very comfortable for adults, the kids can easily sleep on the sofa beds, futons, trundle beds, or cots.

A quick note: There is a balance that you must achieve. You don't want to turn your second home into a boarding house, but you should maximize your space to appeal to a larger pool of potential guests.

How have you thought outside the box to improve your sleeping accomodations?
"We replaced a pair of twin beds in our gameroom with two futon bunk beds (the bottom bunks are futons). That room used to sleep two people and now sleeps six." --Mark A., Lake Arrowhead, CA.
