How to Rent Vacation Properties by Owner: Hawaii Seminar Series

Join us in Hawaii this Fall when we take our seminar series to the islands!  For current owners of vacation homes, this class will give you all of the information you'll need to effectively make money from your investment. Learn how to rent your vacation home “by owner," improve your marketing and rental process, and meet other vacation rental owners in your area!

In addition to the regular Seminars, we will be conducting round-table Workshops in Waikiki Beach, plus Individual Consultations and Property Walk-Throughs by request on all three islands.  Please also let us know if you'd be interested in attending Networking Events with other vacation rental owners.

Seminars: Christine Karpinski, author of Profit From Your Vacation Home Dream and How to Rent Vacation Properties by Owner, will provide comprehensive information on how to effectively make money from your vacation home. Learn tips for advertising on the Internet, organizing your bookings, accepting payments and more while networking with other vacation rental owners.

The seminar is constructed in a presentation format with Q&A sessions at the end of each section of topics and for the last 30 minutes. Workshops: The workshops being held in Hilo on Sunday, Sept 28, are designed to teach vacation rental owners how to better run their business and improve their listings. You will receive actual listing scores completed by other owners in attendance, along with Christine and HomeAway/VRBO staff members, to provide guidance for areas of improvement.  Christine will also provide more in-depth discussion of search engine optimization and improving search results.

Individual Consultations*:   We will be offering private 90-minute consultations during our Hawaii island-hopping seminar series. Your individual consultation with HomeAway, Inc./VRBO.com staff members will include: • A completed critique of your property listing. • Suggestions for photos, wording, and the overall organization of your ad.

Property Walk-Throughs*: If you own property on one of the islands, consider signing up for a 2-hour walk-through at your personal vacation home. Your walk-through will include tips for increasing inquiries, improving your rental process, and exceeding guests' expectations during their stay.

Networking Events...Coming Soon! Many owners have shared that networking is one of the most valuable parts of attending a seminar.  Although Christine and HomeAway, Inc./VRBO Staff can only schedule a limited amount of time in each location, we are happy to coordinate networking events (lunches, dinners or other meetings) for interested owners.
